Company Background
Preferred Primary Care Physicians (“Preferred”) was founded in 1995 by a group of 10 primary care physicians in the South Hills suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA.  The group shared a common commitment to the practice of high quality medicine and an entrepreneurial spirit to grow the organization while remaining independent.  The group currently consists of 34 Primary Care Physicians, (22 Internal Medicine and 12 Family Practice physicians), as well as 5 certified nurse practitioners.  Preferred has 15 locations in the South Hills of Allegheny County and 2 locations in Uniontown in Fayette County.  The group has a number of ancillary services including laboratory, physical therapy, echocardiography, and sleep disorders center. There are also several offices involved in clinical research.
